Boys don’t cry: Trauma, trauma narrative and masculine practice among young male who engaged in harmful sexual behaviour

Compelling evidence suggests that majority of young men who engaged in harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) were subjected to various forms trauma and adverse childhood experiences. This research explores lived experience a group HSB, what sense they made it how their positioned themselves towards these events including so are able maintain self-integrity. It also impact with consideration for broader family cultural discourses. Transition Adulthood Attachment Interview Semi-structured interview employed Dynamic- Maturation Model attachment utilised this since differentiates dismissed pre-occupied spectrums. Findings highlighted all the presented mainly complex unresolved or loss some both types trauma. Furthermore, dominant hegemonic culturally shared discourses masculinity make experience. The ways which experiences shaped HSB pathway developed is discussed.
